Bringing Hope to Entebbe Prison

Entebbe Prison holds individuals from diverse backgrounds, many facing isolation and despair. Some have lost contact with their families, leaving them feeling abandoned. Oasis Outreach Uganda and Watoto Church are working to change that—bringing hope, connection, and a reminder that no one is forgotten.

Restoring Dignity Through Connection

Every week, the Outreach team visits with open hearts, offering encouragement, prayers, food, and a listening ear. These simple acts of kindness have a profound impact, helping inmates feel valued and supported. In cases where individuals have lost touch with their families, the team goes further—reuniting loved ones and restoring dignity.
One inmate had been imprisoned for overstaying his immigration status. While awaiting sentencing, he had no way to contact his family in Kenya. They only knew he had disappeared and feared the worst. When our team reached out on his behalf, they were relieved to hear from him and immediately arranged to assist him. Moments like these highlight the life-changing power of compassion.

A Path to Transformation

For the volunteers, seeing gratitude and transformation in the inmates reinforces the belief that small acts of kindness can create lasting change. By showing up consistently, Oasis Outreach Uganda and Watoto Church send a powerful message: every person, no matter their past, is worthy of dignity and redemption.
